How do I remove the banner from the top of my tv screen

How do I remove the banner from the top of my Sony Bravia screen.  Been into settings - channel set up and turned the banner off but it is still visible

Mine is a KDL43WF663

A bar showing the input selected (HDMI) appears whenever I fast forward through anything I have recorded on my VirginMedia TIVO.   It obscures the top 10% of the screen.

Would like to turn it off permanently.
