Safe to use HDMI socket?????

I have a KDL 37P30 (I don't know it's age, the previous owner had not used it much). Along with other sockets it has two HDMI and two SCART. I've an Amazon Prime account ; instead of using a computer and moniter to watch films after work, can you tell me if the TV would work direct from Amazon Prime via Firestick? It would be nice to know this before pluging it in and watching it melt..............

You should be OK as your 2007 TV has a maximum resolution of 1080i. If you buy from Amazon you can always send it back for a full refund if it doesn’t work. The HDMI port has no power, it is input only hence why the Fire Stick needs external power.
