Hello I have a sony KDL40ex403. I have connected the aerial socket to hte room socket which in turn connects to my slx distribution amp but when I connect the cable from the room socket the short circuit protection lights up. I know hte cabling is good as the old tv that was in place did not show this fault. I have carried out a continuity checks and found that the short is on hte TV socket itself. I dont think this should be happening but have been told by a TV repair man who had a look said this is usual. I can't see how this can be the case. Can anyone confirn it this should happen.
I have the same TV, the aerial socket also comes up as short circuit on my continuity tester.
How many other TV aerials are fed off your amp? Does it change things if you remvoe the others and just feed the Bravia, then try adding the others back in one by one? Maybe it is just struggling to feed them all? (I understand that the set up was fine with the old TV, but maybe it was just on the edge, so to speak, but just the right side of it).
I have SLX power dist amp. I have disconnected all the other aerials (5) from the amp and the same thing happens.
It just seems odd that the aerial socket would have a short on it. The TV works fine.
