Battery not charging on VPCZ21V9E

My battery icon is saying that plugged in but not charging.  This occurs when running through the docking station and also when plugged in via the mains adapter.  Any ideas.  Thanks

Hi Bully2912,


This may possibly be explained if you have battery care enabled. To check whether this is the case, open Vaio Control Center > Power Management > Battery Charge Functions.


If battery care function is enabled you can alter the settings by clicking the Advanced button – once the set maximum charge has been reached the icon will display ‘Plugged in not charging’ until the level drops below the pre-set value.


Battery care is designed to prevent constant 100PERCENTAGESIGN charge which can damage the battery.
