Laptop wont turn on

I hope someone can give me some advice.

I have a sony vaio sve1511c5e under 3 months old.

Recently the laptop has been turning itself off for no apparent reason. When it did this I found that it wouldnt turn on again immediately but if I left it a while it would .

today, it turned itself off, and wouldnt turn back on . I left it for ages but still wouldnt turn on, I then took both the battery and the power cable out , put them in again and then the lights came on the laptop started then switched off again immediately.

I found out that the laptop would turn on with just the battery in, but if I plugged in the power cable, it would turn on then switch itself off again immediately.

Even though the power cable is working (i tried it on another pc) its not charging the battery, so now the battery has no charge, and I cant turn the pc on at all.

I have sent an email to sony today as I couldnt get through to anyone on the phone.

So if anyone has any advice I would appreciate it.

As you are sure that the power adaptor is working you will need to pursue this with support.

As email support is not that reliable I suggest that you make contact by telephone. Follow this link, click on Vaio and Computing and then enter your serial number for details of direct contact available to you. Make sure to get a case number from the agent so that we can follow this up if you have problems.

Thank you for replying Rich.

The power supply is working, it charges my old vaio laptop and the green light is on, so all is ok with that.

I will try the phone number you gave me on Monday, as the support line is only open monday to friday.

will let you know how I get on.
