Hello.
I'm using the laptop connected to other instruments on my electronics lab bench and wonder if it's OK to connect the USB shield to protective earth in the wall outlet.
Since the charger is a class-2 device (double isolation, no earth) the leakage current is applied to the ground lead of the charger and causes potential problems when connecting the laptop to other equipment which is earthed.
