Having returned my Vaio for repair (battery fails to charge), I have been informed that Sony will not honour my warranty because of "liquid contamination". I understand the term, and equally can understand why computer companies exclude damage resulting from spilled drinks, etc. from warranty coverage (I work in the industry). However, I defy anyone to explain how the "liquid contamination" in the following photos (taken by the Sony repair team) justifies the "excluded from warranty" decision:

Is my eyesight failing? Can anyone see liquid contamination which is anywhere near any electrical components?
