VAIO SVE1513M1EW will not accept the password

My VAIO SVE1513 with Windows 8 does not accept my password. I'm sure it is correct. There has just been a windows 8 update. Could this be the cause? How can I change the password?

I presume this is the Windows Password? What error message do you get?
