Hello,
I have been experiencing problems with my Sony VAIO VPCF12C5E.
Whenever I stop using it for a while and it goes to sleep mode, I cannot get the screen to switch on again even when I touch the keyboard or mouse.
The computer is indeed switched on as the light goes green but the screen stays black.
The only way to be able to use it again is to switch the computer off "abnormally" by pressing the power button continuously and have it to start again via the black screen "start windows normally" etc.
Does anyone have the same problem and has identified what may be wrong? I got an error message once today mentioning an error with a drive and something about the screen having just recovered (didn't appear long enough for me to copy it)
thanks!
Céline
Hi Celine,
Try uninstalling the graphics driver from within Device Manager and then reinstall the original preinstalled graphics driver from the support site.
http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/VPCF12C5E/updates
If that has no effect then check your Windows update history for any recent failed updates that have not subsequently installed. If there are then try running Windows Update again or download and manually install the update.
