I have a Vaio VPCF13M0E/B which the keyboard and trackpad have stopped working on. This only happens in the OS environment, ie it works on startup and I can access the BIOS etc. It also happens when trying to install an OS from disc. A usb mouse and keyboard work ok but that is not an appropriate solution for a portable device under 2 years old. When the keyboard and trackpad stop working, the buttons and lights on the speaker cover part also become unresponsive.
On googling this issue, it seems to be common across the Vaio range but I can't find a solution anywhere. It seems Sony is just ignoring the problem.
Can anyone suggest what that the problem might be and a possible resolution?
