VPCF13M0E Wont turn on unless its plugged in

Hi, I have a Sony Vaio PCG-81112M, which doesnt turn on unless its plugged into the mains. When it is on, the battery states that its on 100%, but theres no indication to it being plugged in. When I unplug the device, the laptop turns off immediately.

Hi Adam12397 and welcome to the Sony Users Community.

One explanation could be that the battery is completely dead.  I presume you have cleaned the battery contacts.  The only way to find out, is to borrow a working battery from a friend or a Sony Shop and see if the problem exists with a battery known to be working.

There are other possibilities.  The Power Board may have failed or another electrical connection problem that will need someone to check inside but I would try to get hold of a replacement battery first.

Yesterday however, it was working perfectly fine, the battery was charging normally, and there was no problems with shutting down. I don't see how this could suddenly happen.
