Is there some way to install new apps on BRAVIA KDL-49WD75X?

My mother bought this tv for her bedroom so she would be able to keep watching her favourite series whilst bedridden during the months of her chemotherapy. She had the (very reasonable) expectation that she would be able to add the streaming apps she uses. The tv only provides a handful of apps and no discernable way to add more. I'm sure you can understand that she is very disappointed, is there some way to fix this?
