Accelerometer stops working

The accelerometer of my x performance stops after some days so auto-rotate and other stuff does not work anymore until I reboot...

My guess it's not a Sony exclusive issue. Google it - seems to happen on other phones also.

All I did was disable Google App under "Settings" "Apps" "Google App"

*Restart Phone*

Now go back and "Enable" the Google App again. It will update.

It's been working fine for me all day. I didn't do the account delete thing.

I think you're right about it not being exclusive to Sony.

And seems then that disabling the Google app is sufficient as the following app update is the culprit (as app update also takes place after re activating the Google account). Good to finally have a temporary solution.

Nope... that didn't work for me.

I do use the google app again and setup the cards and everything like screen search thing.

do you mean that I disable, restart, enable it again and update then don't use it anymore?

+1 problem down under we are up to 275,
-after 5-6 hours
-no base apps disabled
-camera zoom issues occasionally blocks zooming & stuck in landscape despite apps stuck in portrait overheating
- intermittent touch

I didn't put the Google search bar back on the home page. I just tried and the auto rotate stopped working. Incredible.

So I just redid everything again - disable Google App, restart, enable Google App, update. Leave the search bar off.

I'm leaving it like this until the fix comes, but it's a good work around unless you use the Google Search Bar often.

Uninstalling (disabling) Google App helped! 2 days no problems.

I did the software repair using Xperia connect on Monday. Have been trouble free since then. It's now Thursday. Will update here if it fails again

Sony, when we could have the actual update schedule to fix the problem...?

DmitryDN. I don't even have Google Apps in my list of apps so I doubt that app is the culprit.

@smallball

The update is planned to be released in November.

But please note that software rollouts are a phased process – timings and availability may vary by market/carrier.

I've also received information that if the barometer feature is an important feature to you, it might help to disable the Google Location History as a work around.

  1. From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
  2. Find and tap Settings > Location > Google Location History.
  3. Tap this device and drag the slider beside your device to the left.
  4. Restart your device.
