Auto brightness too low in dark

Anyone else finding that the screen is far too dim in auto mode if trying to use in dark?

I confirm that when it gets dark I have to manually raise the brightness because the screen goes totally dark (well, brightness at 0). The problem is that later it goes down back to zero. Actually I see now that in the Settings/Display/Brightness level the thumb moves by itself. There is something wrong with it.

So this is a bug. My Xperia M2 doesn't behave like that and it has no minimum brightness either. Let's say that it would help a lot if Sony implemented a bug report system like Apple is doing...

I'm not sure if that's what "fixed" it, but after testing it I left the brightness to a value above 50%. Before it was 30% or so. It still moves due to the auto adjust, but when it is dark it never goes down to 0%. At least it didn't since my last previous post. The other option is that tampering with it moved the module out of a bug.

+1. It randomly goes down to minimum brightness, even when I'm in a dimly-lit room and my hands are not covering the light sensor.

Actually I see now that in the Settings/Display/Brightness level the thumb moves by itself. This is how it is intended to work so that you can see the current brighness level, in order to turn off this feature you can disable Adaptive brightness.

However, it's possible that you can change how this works using 3:rd party apps you find in Google Play.

No, sorry, That's not how it is intended to work. Because once in a very dark environment I set a brighteness value the latter should only be higher with more light. Instead what it happens is that after a while it can go down to zero again. 

It might be only a matter of a simple calibration, but that's in the algorithm, which to me is broken and must be fixed.

Can we see a Solution from the Sony Development to fix it on the new Firnware ? Ore a little Software Update it comes after the Official Nougat Update ?

I am 100 sure something ist wront with the Auto Brightness. Its realy too low in the Dark.

After few days testing I dare to say that the auto dimming seem to be working fine now in Nougat. The setting to keep the phone on while on hand behaves a bit funny sometimes (it gets a bit dark), but I just need to touch the screen and it goes back to the right brightness.

No, honestly I totally forgot about this issue after the first Nougat upgrade. And the last updates just keeping making the phone better! I wish it will bethe same with my Bravia TV..
