bluetooth problems after update to 7.0 - not connect correctly / no remote control via Headphones

Dual SIM. After updating to 7.0 I have issues with bluetooth devices (already paired under 6.0).

I have set the event to start music player with the last song upon connection to Sony MDR-ZX750BN bluetooth headphones.
The event starts with error - no playlist...

Not so bad, because I can start playing with the keys on the headphones - but thy don't work at all.

I have to press play on the phone - and most times - the bluetooth is already disconnected and the phone plays with the loudspeaker. I have to touch the device under bluetooth paired devices and it starts reconnection. After that i start manually the sound and everything works exept the remote control keys from the headphones
I also loose the checked marks on the devices bluetooth services - manually I can choose all 3 available "call", "media" "sharing"

Teethering works fine, but still no bluetooth service (remote teethering) on the notebook (like under Android 5) , this was very cool, showing the phones hotspot to Windows, even it was off, just within range of bluetooth. With selectiong to connect to that wifi network, via bluetooth, teethering on the phone was started - was very usefull!
Does this come back?

This is a bad problem now , one of the reasons you choose a phone is its bluetooth conectivity , when this is compromised as now , when the update comes along Sony will not be considered as a suitable device. The software developers nedd to find the issue and fix it pronto.

I'm also have this issue, and my main use for blue tooth is for in car driving, right now it connects for media streaming and intermitantly connect to the phone, and when it does it will not accpt the contacts, most times, i have to delet and add the device on my car several times before it actually connects

I'm supper dissappointed in the X performance!

Ever since my 7.0 upgrade, my X Performance won't auto connect to bluetooth for media with my car (Scion iM).  My car shows that a connection is made but no sound and no song details show up on my car audio display.  I'd have to do the following on my car for it to work:

1) Go to bluetooth settings

2) Go to paired device and select my phone

3) Disconnect the audio

4) Reconnect the audio

I have discovered a work around - in order for my phone to auto-connect with my car, I have to have the phone in the following condition:

1) Phone unlocked

2) Sony music app in full screen mode

When I inspect the settings for each of my BT paired devices on my X Performance (i.e. headphones, speakers, computer, car, etc.) every one has 'media audio' unchecked.  Trying to 'check' them off doesn't do anything.

My last couple of phones (Arc, Z and Z3) all auto-connected without the extra steps above.  This behaviour only started on my X Performance after the 7.0 upgrade (build number 39.2.A.0.417) which roled out for me in February 2017.

Would greatly appreciate it if someone can give me an update on this issue.

Thanks

I have also discovered that my Xperia X Performance won't keep its Bluetooth connection with my 2016 Volvo XC70, unless the screen is lit. The moment my telephone decides it's time to make the screen dark, the Bluetooth cuts out => no handsfree, no music.

It has worked flawlessly before, so it must have something to do with an update as the other people here writes. Extremely annoying.

Same here. Before the 7.1.2 update, my bluetooth works flawlessly, now it doesn't. Lol did Google just flip a switch and make all those who had it working not working anymore and vice versa? T_T

I can't use the phone in my 2016 Volvo XC 70 anymore, because the phone shuts down the Bluetooth connection with the car as soon as the screen go black. If I tap it every now and then, it keeps  the connection. But that's not the meaning of handsfree... No phone, no music.

Mylady's XZ is working fine, and so is her Samsung work phone.

I have the latest updates. This is  annoying.

I am having exactly the same problem. So upsetting. Neither my media nor my GPS comes from the car speakers. And I can no longer check the box "media" within the bluetooth settings. Please find a solution ASAP!!

Have anyone got solution for this? If Sony doesn't offer bugfixes to few year old flagship model, does they expect that the customer would consider buying their new model? I've been loyal to Sony and every phone since SonyEricsson K800i have been Sony and I even wait few months before bought new tablet, because I did hope news from new model coming from Sony. Now my better half got this Xperia X performance and she can't connect to bluetooth headphones that I got few years ago with Z3 Compact. Now I've company phone Huawei Honor 8 and it works like a charm, no problems after nougat update and it's half price of same year Sony flagship.

I had this problem with the previous update and once again with the recent update. I did however figure out how too solve my problem and maybe it can work for someone else as well (hopefully).

After the update, my media was not playing through Bluetooth/Hands-free car KIT. My steps were as follows:

1. Totally disconnected the Bluetooth connection between the 2 devices.

2. Clear all Bluetooth connections, as well as all cached data on the phone.

3. Re-connect the car and phone (only the calling function available).

4. Make a call to your cell phone (from another phone or someone else's phone) to check the connection. This is almost like an initializing process.

5. Then change the Bluetooth settings for the Hands-free kit (enable media).

6. Finally, try to play a song through the new connection.

If this doesn't work for you, sorry... I tried to help 🙂
