Can't open application

When trying to open my payslip in my inbox it comes up, "cannot find application to open file" any one got any ideas how to fix this problem please.

What type of file is it that you try to open? It would also be great if you could say what Xperia device and Android version you are using. You can see this if yo go to: Settings > About phone.

Hi thank you for getting back to me. All I know is it's a Android version 7.11 model F, 5321. It's a Pdf file

Thanks for getting back to me. I recommend that you reset your app settings. You will then be asked to choose a app to associate pdf files with when you try to open one again. To do so, go to: Settings > Apps > Tap the ... > Reset app preferences > Reset apps. Then open a pdf file.
