Mounting remote shares feature with Xperia X

Dear Sony Xperia Support, do you think it is possible to bring back the functionality of mounting remote shares (SMB) to my Xperia X with upcoming updates? (It was available in the storage settings for Xperia Z series before). This feature was extremly useful and worked really good for me! What would you say?

There is some new app in Google Play store, called Android Samba Client, which would fill the gap, but it does not work with my Sony smartphone and Asus router...
