Hello,
I bought and unpacked the Sony Xperia X compact today, and used NFC to transfer data and sync between old and new phones.
Before downloading 7.0 Nougat os on the Compact X I was able to sign into google play and download some apps, they downloaded VERY fast, on my 40Mbps home wifi.
Very soon after I saw there was an Andriod system update to 7.0 Nougat, so I clicked 'okay' and after the Andriod software was upgraded to 7.0, the playstore app also needed an update of 35MB--this took 10 minutes to download while connected to the same fast home wifi.
So I have tried downloading many apps but all of them download at an alarmingly slow rate--at an average of 1/6th of a MB/ps.
A 600MB app game is saying it will take 3 hours to download...this situation has the potential to grind my gears.
Moreover, my Xperia X compact is BRAND new, with the delivery box still smelling fresh on my table.
Anyone recognize or able to give advice on this issue? Cheers in advance.

Since this is a major update, most likely old apps are updating, accounts are syncing and you are downloading new apps.
