On my Xperia x performance(F8131), when I receive a call I answer it like normal putting the phone up to my ear where the screen turns off because the proximity sensor recognizes the small distance. But when I pull away it no longer turns the screen on! This means I can't end the call myself, I have to wait until the other person hangs up. Better yet, if I call someone and they don't pick up it forces me to their voicemail because I cannot hang up, forcing me to turn off my phone in this instance in order to avoid leaving a voicemail in which most cases a blank voicemail is left in their voicemail inbox. I just recently got my screen(internal and external) fixed at genius phone repair and coincides with the timing of when this issue started occurring. Is this the cause? if not will this issue be addressed in the Oreo update for sensor coding issues? Thanks a lot and I still very much a fan of Sony phones
@Dan35does the same thing happen in safe mode? if not, then it's caused by some app you've installed. if the issue persists, you might want to try performing a software repair using Xperia Companion, and if it won't solve your issue, contacting your Local support. in the meantime, as a workaround, you could go to Settings > Accessibility and enabling option called "Power button ends call", so that you'll be able to hang up when you want to instead of waiting for the other person to do that.
