Screen will not stay on after restart.

I have a stock XP, after restarting yesterday, the screen turned off after 2 seconds in the home screen.
The LED flashes, get text alerts and calls. Can not answer them though. When I restart again the screen comes back on,
I can put the password to confirm a restart and then the screen goes black after it shows the home screen.
Any ideas or fixes?

Got it working, Ended up being water damage.

No idea how it got in there. Both of the cameras are foggy now.

In rice for a few nights.

Looks like I was wrong, it still locks 2-5  seconds after it boots into the main screen.

Doesnt lock down in the screen to put the password in on the boot up.

I have the same problem. I tried to software repair it, but now it wont respond at all. The screen turns on, but it is grey and nothing happens
