SMS works but no browser

I have disabled Google Chrome as it keeps freezing my sms. Now I don't have a browser to open anything. Anyone help me? Thanks

you can download another browser from Play Store. Brave Browser (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brave.browser) is very similar to Chrome, but comes with ad blocker installed. if for some reason the SMS app keeps freezing after you install it, remove it and try Firefox (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mozilla.firefox)

@1CK did you try restarting your phone in safe mode? Changing browser should be just a last resort, not the solution of the issue.

Also, what do you mean exactly by... "freezing my sms"?

Hi

No I didn't do that. Sony have said that the last update in Google Chrome is causing problems with the sms which ifound quite a few people having the same issues. When you ooen your sms you can't actually type a message the cursor doesn't flash ready.  Sony said to use the normal Google search which is great except when you click on the item there isnt an app to open it now I disabled chrome.  So frustrating.  Was having to turn my phone off for ten mins to fix it, 4 5 times a day which is not an answer either. Thank you I will have a look at them both. I believe Sony are looking into changing the sms app but when that will be I don't know.

you can also use a third party SMS app if you want to. Pulse SMS (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xyz.klinker.messenger) is a free, polished SMS client and it shouldn't have the freezing issue.

Thanks for the tip. Brave is a great web browser and for me its so much faster than Chrome too. Think i will stick with it even if Sony find a solution. Cheers.
