Two vertical bars icon with rope (?) between??

I have the icon above on the status bar of my new phone; any idea what it means and how to remove?
Also why doesn't sony list all icons on their support page??

Do you mean the one next to the clock in this pic? If so it's NFC. You can switch off.

Hi @Karyathena, welcome to our forum!

As @alexdon mentioned, a screenshot of the icon would be a really good way for us to be able to assist you in the best possible way. You can also see if the icon is the to the left or the right on the status bar of your phone. On the right hand side all system icons will be shown and to the left all icons from notifications will be shown. To take a screenshot, press and hold your power button > tap on "Take screenshot".

It does sound like it could very well be the NFC icon that @netboysteve mentioned, so please have a look in Settings > More > NFC and see if this option is enabled. If it is, turn it off and check if the icon has been removed from the status bar.
