Xperia x data storage wipe

Have had my Xperia x for about 2 months now. And I had my internal storage of 64GB filled up to 41GB usage without external SD card. Shocking i tried to access a file on the internal storage with my computer  i couldn't find it and i removed the cable and fixed it back, i still couldn't find the file, shocking when i tried to access my files on the phone i observed all my stored files from pictures, videos, doc where wiped away just like that. I don't have any backup for recent files on this phone. I don't understand what kind of of problems this is with a phone i spent lots of money to purchase with assurance since my last phone was Xperia L. Moreover the new update N 7.1 won't update after installation it will say unable to complete installation. A lot of errors with this phone i can't keep suffering like this. The  dual sim keeps changing from preset to call without notice. Heating issues are observed, poor battery life, power button don't end call always. Am so disappointed with this sony Xperia x experience. How do i recover my lost files now. What kind of regret is this. Am just regreting buying this with my hard earned money. Regrettable!

Its unfortunate, i still don't get any help on my phone issues. It seems to me mu complaints is with mu phone only and yet am still suffering  from this phone tilo this very minutes. The latest now is when i put it on charge and go to bed with a comfimation its charging, i wake up to see my phone hot and powered off. What kind of useless phone is this, i have counted losses since i purchased this phone. It's time to say goodbye, have to get a better brand n put this phone into the trash bin. It's a pity.

It seems you might have done something wrong by disconnecting the phone from the computer whilst transferring files.

Any computer, be it Windows, Linux or android has great problems when disconnecting without unmounting first.

You may have acted at a critical moment.

My guess is that you really lost everything and that is not due to your device but to your own acting.

My other guess is that your phone will be working really fine after a factory reset.

There are several solutions to try to save some of your files.

1) use Xperia companion and try if you can backup something from your device.

Then use Xperia companion to repair your device.

2) use FWUL Linux distro to access your devices memory and see if that might be able to grab some files from your phone.

3) If you did Setting menu -> backup and restore and ticked automatic backup in the past, then all your data are stored in the cloud.

Good luck!

I wasn't transferring any  files while connected. I was only trying to access a file which i couldn't find. And am not  a novice in ict, am an expert user software n ict expert so when i make complaints i know what am talking about. My former android device was Xperia L i never had a complaint with it n i used it ruggedly fir about 5 years and never complained. But this Xperia x is a big flaw. I was warned before purchase but for the love of sony xperia i fell cheap. My wife laffs at me every day. It has lots of problems. Have tried system updates up to 5 times with wasting data download of about 500mb n after it finishes install it says update was unsuccessful, so what's that? I recently put it on charge with confirmation its charging n i wake up to see battery is flat while phone is hot what that? I use dual sim and  it chose to select sim without my knowledge after i have made a prset. Am done!

I can imagine you are fed up with it.

At least your wife is laughing.

That's one good point for you.

Did you try any of the solutions for saving data I proposed?

Was it off any help or did it not work out.

If it didn't work, then do a factory reset and see what happens.
