Hi,

Recently my power button stop working on my Sony Xperia Z5 Premium.

Yesterday my phone closed and now I am not able to open it, Is there a way to open the device without using the Power Button?

Hi @xoxsniperxox, I am very sorry to hear about this.

Does the screen wake up at all if you connect your phone to a charger? Also, have you tried forcing a restart of the phone by presing and holding the power key and volume up simultaniously for about 10 to 15 seconds? You can read more about troubleshooting a phone that does not start here.

If none of the troubleshooting methods in the link above manages to start the phone again, I am afraid that the only thing left to do is to get in contact with your local support team in order to have the phone sent to a repair center. If you have any questions regarding the service, such as routines, warranty and consumer laws, these type of questions are best answered by your local support team as well, as they vary between markets.

Hi Martin,

First of all thanks for your reply.

Yes, the screen is waking up when I plug the device and it's charging properly.

I cannot force the device to restart because the power key is not working.

I did manage to open the device by:

1- Holding the volume button down

2- Plug the device with usb cable into my laptop

But it seems that only specific type of usb port make this work, because I tried with other port the same solution and it was not working but when I used the port with the small Lighting sign It work!

Ill see next time I need to start the device If this will still work.
