Text messages sound/notification

New phone xperia 1 text messages are just not loud enough. I have volume on loudest settings yet the txt sound is too quiet i miss lots of txts. I have tried numerous settings and different sounds  and it still gets no louder. Severe disapointment considering sending back as a fault. Has anyone else had this problem?

Settings - Ringer and Notification Sounds, is the setting you want to turn up.

Yes I have done this. I am familiar with the settings for the xperia phone. I am somewhat of a sony fan over the last 10 yrs they have been my go to phone. Even though all the sound settings are up full my txt notification is barely noticeable.  Thanx anyway.

What if you select a different notification tone, that worked for me

side note, which notification tone are you using, so we can test it.

I've tried it with lots of different tones.. from the default menu on my phone to ones i've downloaded etc myself. The same problemwith every  one i try. The ringtone is lovely and loud and other notifications for email, facebook, whatsap and such. I have tried the stock sms messaging service and tried others too just to see if it made a difference but it doesn't. I've checked all my settings and even reset the phone but its still the same. Xx
