Amazon Prime App stopped working last night - on Sony KD55AG9

Hi all

I bought the Sony KD55AG9 last November (2020) and have been happily watching Amazon Prime on the TV (via the app that is built into the tv) since then.

Last night i selected something to watch in the app and there was no audio and juddering/skipping picture (like it was stuck on slow fast forward.

I've changed nothing since the previous day.

I've checked wifi speeds, which are the same too.

All the other internal apps, bbc iplayer, itv hub etc. all work properly still.

Do you know what is causing this and what the solution is please?

Many thanks

I think unplugging the TV from the mains for a minute will sort it out. Have you tried that?

Hi Win_88

That worked, thanks!

Still don't know what caused it, but its a solution.

Appreciate your help.

Just like an Android phone, or even a PC, there's data piling up in the background which is manageable by the system for the most part, but it can't hurt to refresh things every once in a while (I do this every week or so even if there's no direct need for it)

Have a good one

Hi

I usually when I face a video issue on my Kd-55AG8, press the power button on the Remote Controller for appr. 8 seconds and it forces the reboot of the Android TV. It is enough to press the button only once at the beginning,  you don't need to press the remote controller again, because the reinitialization has been started and it will turn on your TV automatically in a few minutes.

While it is booting you can see the Android logo.

This procedure helped me many times.

Best Regards
