Hi All,
I have 32GB USB stick with the software update and one another application(to bring the BBC iPlayer, All 4 and etc back at the home screen as I have disabled the Sony Shelf).
When I insert the stick into HDD REC port. I don't get any popup message.
I have checked the Setting -> Storage & Reset, and it says JetFlash USB is safely ejected.
I have tried the File Exploreer, I can see the USB stick detected there but can't see the content of the USB stick.
I have tried power cycling the TV several times, USB stick is in FAT32 format.
Any suggestions please?
Cheers
Youview is disbled as well.
Hi @apanveka
So just checking you have a USB drive containing just one object, the .pkg file in the root folder and no other folders or files etc. With the USB plugged in try performing a soft reset (hold down the remote power button for several seconds until Power off appears). If it still doesn't pick it up then I would try a different USB drive.
I had some problems in the past too. Conventional formatting didn't help. Low-level formatting eventually did. So try rewriting the partition table (GPT preferred for Android).
@LightFoot I have .pkg and .apk in the root directory noe of them exceeding 2Gigs. I am at work, I will try it when I get home. I still wonder if USB stick is faulty then how windows can detect it. It must be do with the Android Tv os file format.
Thanks for your help.
I have tried the other USB Stick and it worked. It has the same FAT32 filesystem format and same content as the one wasn't working. Good old Sony quality.
I still believe that the one that doesn't work has a corrupted partition table which Android or some driver can't cope with. But we won't find out as you just ignored my posting and didn't try to repartition it...
@Kuschelmonschter I couldn't get time to re-partition the USB stick.I will give it a try when I can and update the thread so It would be helpful to other members. Thanks.
