purple patches at the side and center of the screen

the purple patches have appeared at the side of my KD-55X8005C tv where the hdmi/usb ports are, also on the opposite side of the screen and a small patch in the centre of the screen. been like this for about a week and seems to be getting slightly worse.had the tv for just over 2 years.is there a fix or is the tv on the road out. any help much appreciated

Can you do a picture test to see if the patches show up there also and let me know the outcome?

just done the test and no patches showed up

done the test a few times now and its slightly noticeable at the worst part of the screen,where the hdmi & usb sockets are.

 

it shows up really bad on a white background but barely noticeable on a yellow background ?

Hi Norrie,


There are a few of things to check here:


1-Make sure your TV is up to date: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/lcd-tvs-android-x80xxc_x81xxc-series/kd-55x8005c/download...

2-Reset the picture settings on the TV to the defaults.

3-Remove all external devices connected to the TV before disconnecting the TV from the mains and plugging it back in and check if you still see the issue on the screen on the Home screen.

4-perform a factory reset.
