Sony firmware update v.6.6188

I have just received a notification on my KD-48A9 TV that software (v.6.6188) is available to download.  I am just wondering of any of the Community members have installed this yet and whether or not they had any problems.  Your help is much appreciated.

Don't install if you intend to watch normal TV.

I will never buy another Sony product again.

The last update caused a black screen and the remote was unresponsive.  Eventually got it working.  Reluctant to do this one.

I have this version running on my KD-48A9   So far no issues that I have experienced.  It appears to have fixed a bug I had when turning the TV off after havign watched recordings on a Panasonic HDD recorder.  The TV would often turn on again many times requiring a power off/on reset.  That seems to be fixed in this new version.

I am really pleased with my TV from this range too.   I am hoping they might give it the Android 12 update soon too.

Updated to this on my KD55AF9 last month. Caused stuttering and crashes and now the TV wont turn back on and is unresponsive to the hardware reset. Expert says the motherboard is fried. So it has basically killed my TV a year after the warranty expired. Fuming

I am so sorry to hear about this.  I would be fuming too.  I am very apprehensive when I get software requests and breath a sigh of relief when they work.  I hope you get things sorted.
