Tv software update icon appeared

Has anyone else seen this? I just turned the TV on and in the featured apps panel there is a new icon called TV software update. 

It loads a url but it's just a Sony 404 page

Same here, also directs to an 'oh no' Sony page.. Really makes you wonder if this update will bring more bugs then it solves. Maybe it should say 'Oh No were gonna break your tele soon'..

they also announced the removal of Opera from Sony TVs

Well, I turn off automatic updates and see if it works you guys for you before I update my TV

have we established if this update is safe.  I am nervous about Sony's software, has anyone installed the update yet and how did it go?

Well....

I was brave enough to try with KDL-55W809C and now it has boot looped the last 2 hours
