I am trying to see if I can actually record a TV program onto a USB stick as my 8-yr old Sony DVD twin tuner recorder died recently (I used to run TV via the DVD recorder).
TV's manual told me that USB stick needs to be minimum 32 GB so I bought a 64GB to be sure that there would be enough room on it. So the USB stick is new and unused.
Eventually I managed to register and format the USB stick and it seemed to be ready for me to record onto.
But today, when I put in the USB stick, the buttons on the remote control don't work, except to turn TV on and off.
So I can't even check if the USB stick is functioning properly.
Yes, the remote control works when I take out the USB stick, so it isn't a matter of dead batteries or dead buttons. Also, I have done the trick about taking out the batteries and pressing every button on the remote in order to 'clear' out old info, as per the two Youtube videos about this.
TV is 4 years old and works very well. Model is KDL 40W700C.
Can anyone help pls? Sony?
