Sony soundbar HT A7000 HDMI ARC port broken. Help needed.

I have had the above soundbar for just over one year and recently I noticed that the TV Screen (used as a centre speaker) was making a crackling sound every few seconds. I determined that the cause was that the ARC HDMI port on the soundbar was unusually loose (the other HDMI ports on the soundbar fit the cable tightly but the cable wobbles in the ARC port). I tried various things and in despair, I applied blue-tack around the cable so it would stick to the port and remain fixed. This worked for a while until the soundbar stopped completely. I removed all the blue-tack from the port but the soundbar basically does not work unless the cable is pushed in and held in a very specific position. Help is needed.

Hi @rubmail96

I'm afraid that only Sony can help you with a physical repair.

It sounds like the ARC HDMI port on your soundbar might be loose or damaged. The blue-tack trick worked for a bit, but now it seems like the port is faulty. Try using a different HDMI cable or port, but if it still doesn't work, you might need to get the port repaired or replaced.
