the Backup & Restore was designed for the 2010 Xperias but work with the 2010, 2011 and 2012 Xperias

Go to settings -> applications -> Unknown sources must be selected

this is how to manually backup your contacts with Google/Gmail

open your phonebook

press MENU button -> tap on Send Contacts -> select all -> send it to your email

on your computer

-> download the file -> go to your gmail -> click on contacts -> click on more actions -> on the drop down menu click on "import" -> choose the file -> and click import

on your computer go to: market.android.com -> log in -> click on My Library -> and send all your apps to your phone

How to sideload apps

unkown sourcess MUST be selected


1st Method

download OI File Manager (or any other file manager)

OI File Manager

download the app on your computer, transfer it to your SD card, use OI file manager to find it -> tap on it -> install it

2nd method

download the apk on your computer, send it to yourself through email, make sure you send it to your Gmail

now on your phone

go to settings -> applications -> check unknown sources

wait for the email, once  you get the email, open it, and instead of downloading the attachment it will allow you to install it, voila, done

3rd Method

go to box.com and upload the apks from any computer

install the App on your phone -> open BOX -> tap on the app -> install it

I have my xperia z1 2 days and its blacked out and turned off 5 times in one day and now is near impossible to start akso the screen is very dull and not anyway bright

My Phone Explorer gets serious warnings from NOD32 antivirus because it has access to everything you don't want it to have access to.

Powerfull yes, a bit too powerfull maybe?
