Is there any way to delete words learnt by the predictive text on my Xperia NEO V running on ICS 4.0.4?
The predictive text has learnt many incorrect words.
I did a factory reset a week back but the words are back since ICS features a backup of the system to my Google Account.
Cheers
try going to settings>apps>all(tab) search for user dictionary, tap on clear data
also try to go language/keyboard settings>user dictionary
Thanks tried your suggestions, but no use:
user dictionary in all apps, the clear data button is greyed out
the user dictionary in language and input does not show any words at all
do you really use the presictive text? you can turn it off if you want to.
or is the writing language you use is different from what is set on the device?
how about this
Menu -> Settings -> Language/Keyboard -> Next to "Touch Input" you'll see a symbol to the right that looks like equalizer settings, press this and you'll get some new options.
The personal dictionary is at the bottom try to delete whatever
Thanks tried that also. Does not work.
I do use predictive text, but even if I am turning it off now, it still shows words it has already learned.
try going to settings>apps>all(tab) search for international keyboard , tap on clear data
Thanks, this worked, but in my case it was not the International Keyboard but the Xperia Keyboard which I opened in settings>apps>all(tab) and cleared all data.
Cheers
good. glad to help
Best Way is: Settings> Language & input>in KEYBOARD & INPUT METHOD section tap on the settings button on the right side of the desired keyboard (whose suggestions you wish to edit: chinese, international, voice typing, japanese etc) > Use my writing style> My words
It shows the list of all the learned words. Delete as many as you like. This method works on all android versions from ICS to kitkat 4.4.4.
I know this thread is old, but here's an additional tip: if you want to delete specific words from the predictive word list, just tap and hold the suggested word and choose "delete this word"
