I was so confused while selecting a cellphone at range of 20+ K. I was very confused in Samsung Galaxy S+, LG Optimus 2X and SE Xperia Arc. But finally I chose Xperia Arc even though it was costlier. I was very happy that I chose Xperia Arc but when I started using it, it disappointed me very badly.. There are some issues I have with this cell....
1)Why there is no in built 'Swype' keyboard whereas it is available in all other android phones of Samsung.?
2)Why there is no in built task manager where we can free the occupied ram and check the ram usage???
3)Why the hell there is no provision to add birthday to the contact?? SE has provided to enter hell lot of other info such has company details and all but didnt they have brain to have birthday details??
4)Why the hell there is no provision to delete multiple threads of a sms at single time? Why we need to delete it one by one? it is quite annoying...
After seeing all these issues, I feel that I should have gone for Samsung Galaxy which is less costlier and has good battery backup..

Don't forget to mark the Correct Answers & Helpful Answers
1. There is built in Swype keyboard in latest firmware.
2. Stock version Android 2.3 doesn't have a built-in task manager. Other manufacturers like Motorola and HTC made their own and included it in their phones.
3. I don't understand what you mean.
4. That's the stock version Android SMS app. Other manufacturers may have their own SMS app.
1) Fret not, even though it isn't natively installed(and thank god for that, I must say that mundane typing and dictionary works best for me, it is very clever in it's guessing and seldomly mistypes at all), it can be done here. You'll need to allow third party software to be installed and register at their site, but you'll be guided through the installation and implementation process, no sweat
2) ES Task manager, a neat little widget that kills all application currently tapping from the ram with just a single click, they have btw. also made a sweet application called ES file explorer, which can neatly make an overview of all you data on the phone plus allow easy access to cloud storage accounts such as Dropbox and Box(which you can register at ON your phone, and get 50 gb lifetime online account linked to one of your mails, this is part of a campaign that lasts until 31st December 2012,
PS. though it sounds sweet, beware that it's for sharing music and standard document + some pdfs, since it only allows a maximum file size of 100 mb)
3) I've experienced the same issue and is completely with you on this one, this is something they must change, since it's stupid to leave out manual configuration and customization options, which is in my oppinion the heart and beauty of the Android OS compared to iOS.
4) This is not an issue, I can do that... just tap the "menu" button and you should be able to choose to "Delete more", translated from my native tongue, Danish, so it might be named differently, but should diffinetely be there, if you run the current software update at least
Gotta say, I just love the screen on this device, it's gorgeous, better that the old SuperAMOLED that Samsung made i wager
Hope it's sooths your disappointment and helps you get the most of the phone,

Thanks for ur replies... I am satisfied with the answers given here.. but wat I feel here is SE should provide all the options which r provided by its compatitor like Samsung as far as functionality is concerned.
@Klode
Bro, I was not talking about deleting "multiple sms" but "multiple threads" under same single sms. I couldnt find any option to delete multiple threads which is provided by other brands.. n just to have that functionality working for me, if I need to install some app, it is not at all acceptable..
I got you covered, knew what you meant, now let me explain in something far more competent than words:
I have censored it for good measure, but here is the main threaded message overview, the one you get into when you push the "Messaging" app. In this overview you push the "menu" button, the rightmost button. After this at the left most an option should say "Delete several", when you push that one, this comes up:
Now you can mark all or mark individually and delete more than one thread at once
Cheers and best regards, feel free to ask anytime, I'm not done exploiting this beauty xD
Klode_me
Edit: Oh, you mean deleting more than one sms once in threaded view, rather than deleting all the messages in the thread :smileyhappy:? Because if so, no, that you can't, yet another thing SE can change in the upcoming ICS update, that is something I would also deem a necessity Hope they see all these messages, because a simpel way to do it: The above is fine, but when you are in the thread, "Delete conversation" should be made into "Delete several messages/Mark for deletion"
Hey Klode,
Now u got wat I wanted to say... I want to delete several messages under a single thread.. which is currently not present and it is very frustrating and annoying to delete all d msgs one by one.. I wonder how could SE make a silly mistake of not including such an imp.function? I need an answer from SE official... And are they going give us any solution ?
I know iOS allow you to do so, but does any other phone does? does any other Android allow you to do what you said above?
remember that Taskillers harm more than they help, if your phone is really really really slow that you can't do anything with it or that it takes more than 2 seconds to respond you might want to kill the apps, and figure out which app is causing that, because apps like
yahoo mail
slow down the phone, they look nice but it makes the phone unresponsive to any other comands
Hey Uliwooly,
I was waiting for ur answer only.. I dont have any problem with the processing speed of the phone. What my concern is that suppose I have got 20 msgs from a single person, all the msgs willl be under one sms in the form of 20 threads, right? now, if out of those 20 msgs, suppose 15 msgs I want to delete, I cant do it.. When I click on Menu button, I can see only 4 options as 'Add Recipient', 'Delete Conversation', 'Edit Recipient' & 'Add Subject'.
Now, either I can delete the whole msg i.e. 20 msg or I need to long click on every thread and delete it one by one so it is quite annoying because I have same functions in Android phones of 'Samsung'...
the messaging app its subdivided into threaded conversations, now in each thread you get sent and received sms/mms from a contact, you are trying to delete multiple sms/mms within that thread w/o deleting the whole thread. this is not possible with the preloaded messaging app but I'll look into another app that will allow you to do so.
Ya, now u got my point.. There is an app in the market 'Handcent SMS' which allows u to do the same. but when I installed it, I started getting 2 sms notifications one for system inbox and other for the App inbox and it became quite annoying to go and delete the sms in the system inbox. If u can plz help me in getting some good app which will replace the default sms app.
