Disappointed with Xperia Arc... :(

I was so confused while selecting a cellphone at range of 20+ K. I was very confused in Samsung Galaxy S+, LG Optimus 2X and SE Xperia Arc. But finally I chose Xperia Arc even though it was costlier. I was very happy that I chose Xperia Arc but when I started using it, it disappointed me very badly.. There are some issues I have with this cell....

1)Why there is no in built 'Swype' keyboard whereas it is available in all other android phones of Samsung.?

2)Why there is no in built task manager where we can free the occupied ram and check the ram usage???

3)Why the hell there is no provision to add birthday to the contact?? SE has provided to enter hell lot of other info such has company details and all but didnt they have brain to have birthday details??

4)Why the hell there is no provision to delete multiple threads of a sms at single time? Why we need to delete it one by one? it is quite annoying...

After seeing all these issues, I feel that I should have gone for Samsung Galaxy which is less costlier and has good battery backup.. Slightly_frowning_Face

Hey frnds,

now I am facing a new problem from last some days. My GPRS signal keeps dropping every time despite it is showing full network coverage. Initially I thought it is related to the service provider and not the handset but when I checked the same in Samsung handset, it is showing full strength signal.. I m not getting what to do... I reseted my cell twice.. Got the GPRS setting from the provider but the problem still persists.. Slightly_frowning_Face

Frnd,

I tried all these options after reading all the posts related to this issue occuring in Xperia Neo V and some other handsets and after that only I decided to post it here.. After changing the network mode, it shows the signal for some time but after some time it again vanishes.. Slightly_frowning_Face Do I need to see the service center? But what will they do? they will may be reset the handset.. thats it.. Slightly_frowning_Face

Backup everything then update with Update Service

Make sure you backup everything

Settings -> privacy -> Back up my data and Automatic restore should be selected

and also

Use one of these links to download the

Backup & Restore app

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193802

or

http://www.elita-clan.com/downloads/backup_and_restore_v010935.apk

http://www.elita-clan.com/downloads/backup_and_restore_v010935.apkor
http://www.mediafire.com/?1n07llajeaoo03y

How to install it

You need to

go to settings -> applications -> check unknown sources

download IO File Manager

https://market.android.com/details?id=org.openintents.filemanager&feature=search_result

download the backup & restore app, transfer it to your SD card, use OI file manager to find it -> tap on it -> install it

Contacts

just to play it safe sync your contacts w/ google if you haven't already

open your phonebook

press MENU button -> tap on Send Contacts -> select all -> send it to your email

on your computer

-> download the file -> go to your gmail -> click on contacts -> click on more actions -> on the drop down menu click on "import" -> choose the file -> and click import

Apps

Don't worry so much about backing up your apps

on your computer go to

market.android.com -> log in -> click on My Library -> and send all your apps to your phone

if you don't want to use the backup & restore app then

Install "backup SMS" to back up your SMS and MMS to your Gmail

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.zegoggles.smssync&feature=search_result

or your SMS use

"backup & restore SMS"

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore&feature=search_result

or for your MMS use "Save MMS"

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.schwimmer.android.mmsextract&feature=search_result

Call Logs

And for call logs this is great

An easier way to install the Backup & Restore app

download the apk on your computer, send it to yourself through email, make sure you send it to your Gmail

now on your phone

go to settings -> applications -> check unknown sources

wait for the email, once  you get the email, open it, and instead of downloading the attachment it will allow you to install it, voila, done
