I download pc companion to my pc ( run on window xp ) .My phone detect as removable storage on pc screen. but not detect in sony companion. I reinstalled PC companion but the same result. When i connect phone on Window 7 operating system PC, its detects. Please help me to solve. I have Sony xperia SP.
Greetings
I dont see how the response, resulting in a result of, "Now, the phone is accessible via Computer/My Computer on your computer." helps the question of detecting in PC Companion from Sony. I am having the same problem exactly and have not found a solution that works. I would like to perfom a full backup before sending into repair under warranty because the power and volume up buttond do not work anymore.

The reinstall process didn't work for me but i found another solution:
I apologize for any inconvience about my grammar or mispells in this post, english is not my first language.
What im using:
Asus Laptop (Windows 8.1)
USB 3.0
Sony Xperia Z5 (E6653) (USB debugging is ON)
Usb connector that came with the phone
1st. download the Xperia Companion. (i just downloaded it because it might have the drivers needed for the MTP)
2nd. Plug the device. (Make sure it is charging and it is set to MTP)
3rd. go to the Device manager. (as instructed by Sam [Sony Xperia Support])
4th. try to find "Portable Devices", click on the drop down arrow then look for "MTP".
5th. Right click on it then select "Update Driver software", then select "Browse my computer for driver software"
6th. Then select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer".
(Sometimes you might to find your device from the list that will be shown, then click next)
7th. It will show "MTP device" and "MTP USB device". (I have selected MTP USB device, im not sure what will the other one do)
8th. You are done. (if you want it not in debugging mode redo step 2 while not in debugging mode)
disclaimer: this might not be the exact way because i cannot redo it anymore, i just remember how i did it.
EDTI: Xperia companion will pop-up if it was successful. (if you didn't change any settings on the xperia companion)
Hi.
Help please. I have xperia XA, Windows 10 and xperia companion instaled and reinstaled few times both from phone, and download from web.
Companion just cannont find my phone no matter what I do. Is there some fix, or update for windows 10 that can help?
P.S.
I've tried all those things previously mentioned. Including device manager uninstal/reinstal/update draver manually. Best thing I've come to was device manager recognizing phone as MPT device..
..and now for some reason it worked. Haha. I've done the same thing couple of times and nothing, and now it works....
My sony xperia C2305 got stuck in boot loop mode with colourful waves flashing on my screen. I've tried factory reset, wiping cache partition. and my phone is'nt getting detected by PC companion.Since my phone in not getting on, hence I con not turn USB debugging mode.
I use Hp laptop with windows 10 64 bit.
Please give me asolution for this ASAP.
@Utkarsh49229201: charge your device using the wallmount adapter for 1-2 hours. then perform software repair using Xperia Companion... just follow the instructions , you don't have to turn on the device when repairing
@nolramlb PC companion isn't detecting my phone.
@Utkarsh49229201: are you using xperia S or C? if you are using xperia S, then you could only do it by flashing a rom , try to go to Xda forum
As for Xperia C... did you follow the steps on the software repair? just follow the steps first.
use Xperia Companion not PC companion
My phone is sony xperia c2305 i.e sony xperia C3.
I'm using Xperia companion
Sony Xperia C3.
This is the companion I'm using.
I connect it to the PC while pressing vol down button, green light flashes but no further activity is done by the companion.
@Utkarsh49229201: hmm.I see. sometimes it would take awhile when the Xperia companion goes to the next step. just wait a little bit longer.
if it is still not responding, I suggest to flash it with another software, though this might void your warranty. https://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-c
A li'll bit detailed explanation is needed as I'm new in handling softwares and might brick my phone.
