The Phone keeps saying "Encryption was interrupted and can't be completes a result,the data on your phone is no longer accessible."
There is a reset Icon however this doesn't seem to have any effect as it does nothing... I don't know what I did but this screen popped up I wasn't even encrypting anything my phone was on charge. This happens 2 days after i updated my phone not sure if is due to that. Is there anyway to reset the phone?
A repair in PC Companion should solve this problem.
Install PC Companion in your PC (http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/pc-companion/), open Support zone -> Software update -> repair and then follow the instructions from the software.
I'm not sure what might have happened in your phone but certain security softwares and company email accounts can encrypt the phone.
Thanks for the help but it still doesnt resolve the issue Sony PC comapnion doesn't recongnise my device and when i does recognise it .. it says error when it reaches th update/repair stage is there another way to fix the issue other than Pc compainion???
Try this and see if it helps:
Remove phone from PC
Press and hold on/off and vol+ at the same time for 10 seconds
Start PC Companion but don't connect the phone
Select Support zone -> Software update -> repair and follow the instructions.
If this doesn't help and you can't start the phone to make a reset from the phone i recommend that you contact a service location or local Sony Xperia support (http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/).
My Xperia SP has the same problem.... If I turn my device on, the device is like fixing an error with a fixing sign and loading on the screen.. after a few moment, the device will turn on but gets stuck and says "encryption unsuccessful" with a message. It has a reset button but it wont work either. I always get stuck on that screen no matter what I do. I would appreciate if someone will help me fix this problem.

Dear sony mobile team,
None of your service center is able to provide the solution for disk encryption problem in any of your xperia devices, they simply give the estimate of pcb/mainboard. which is very expensive for a software related problem.
and also encryption unsuccessful is not the user problem all the time, most of the time when we want to encrypt the phone it automatically give error after restarting.
for your software or technical problem customer of sony mobile are suffering, is it good.
