Bought Xperia Acro S today. It was a very good phone, well satisfied with it. Not until I installed Quickpic (3rd party picture viewer). And to my surprise, the pics from the Album app and Quickpic are exactly the same in terms of color saturation, noise and contrast! WHY is that SONY?
I have had Xperia ARC and RAY for a year or so, then sold the ARC because of the "CRACK" near the sensor. Got Samsung GSII with a horrible screen which I dont wanna look at, then sold it after 3 days and made me go back to SONY. But til this time after reading several comments, a lot of people noticed that the mBE is not working and Sony is not giving any CLEAR answer or solution for the issue.
I had about 20 SE phones and this is the first real Sony phone I have, please don't disappoint me. Any moderator or Sony Exec, please give me a reasonable answer for this query.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hmmm...let's say..30% and brightness off. Let me ask, where do I configure the automatic brightness? I go to settings>screen>brightness and I can not found where to set it....
well, i am very glad to see that your MBE is working fine. but that is not the case for us, and to most people who unlocked their bootloaders. even if you will relock it using flashtool, MBE wont work even at .50 software.
what worst is, Sony is not cooperating very well in finding a fix. Johan here, will post a very elementary comment once in a week or two, but there isn't any progress.
IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING!
Hi,
I mistyped my message last night.... NO my bootloader is NOT unlocked. It's a "unlock allowed" device but I never unlocked it.
Out of the box it was running an ICS .452 and I updated it to .45 via PCC.
So I am one of those who have BE not working with a STOCK device.
I feel really stupid posting identical pictures but if that proves a point...
BE OFF:
BE "ON":
BE "ON":
BE OFF:
Anybody sees a difference? Not me!
My previous Xperia S was an early one with yellow stains on the screen, it was updated to ICS .452 and then .45 with BE still working fine.
PLEASE SONY, aknowledge the issue and fix it. I really used to love that function.
I cannot tell a difference between those images, so it seems to be your MBE is NOT working on a phone that is "out of the box".
Thats a few people with "out of the box" phones, that do not have a working MBE, so the line does not stop with those who have unlocked their bootloaders or rooted their devices.
Hi everyone,
Sunspot, sorry but I didn't quite understand you. Your phone is LOCK, right?
And all you've done so far is only upgradeing to ICS .45??
Before the upgrade, was the MBE working? Have you tried a factory reset??
As far as I've been reading, most of the people who has the problema are those who Unlocked their Xperia's
Hi,
I confirm that I didn't unlock it. It's rooted though... but with a recent "locked bootloader" method. The upgrade was the first thing I did with the phone, and the root the second, then I restored my data (remember, I had another Xperia S before).
I have no idea if it was working before but for sure it was working with the other phone which had the same firmware and was rooted the same way.
I may try a factory reset but honestly I am sick and tired of backing up and restoring (did it to have ICS quickier, did it to try and fix connectivity issues, did it when I changed the phone... enough).
I understand, I'm sorry I can't help you anymore.
My phone is currently runing: Android: 4.0.4 / Compilation number: 6.1.A.2.45 (hope this info help).
But if MBE used to work on your previous Xperia S, then there's something we are missing. We have to find the difference of what was done in both Xperia's
2 weeks have passed since Johan last commented here.
Isn't 2 weeks enough time for Sony Developers to come up with an answer? Please reply soon.
