My phone froze so I had to restart it, but it turned itself off instead and now it won't turn back on, anyone know why? or what i can do?
Make sure the phone is charged! Try a Hardware reset. The Hardware reset on the X10 mini is done by pressing the On/Off key at the top and the Home (middle) key at the same time. This does not remove any content or applications.
Possibly having a similar problem. I was given my mum's x10 mini and have been trying to get my contact list properly synced, meaning i've been switching the SIM between my old phone and the x10 a few times. Now the x10 won't switch on when the SIM is inserted. It comes on without it, but with it in it just vibrated a bit when the on button is pressed and nothing more happens. The SIM works fine with the old phone (a w995).
The suggested fix didn't work btw.
Gonna have to try that when I get the chance. Will report back tomorrow...
Same problem here. (x10 mini pro)
If the battery dries out completely (so that mobile turns itself off), phone cannot be turned on with any sim card in it (tried with few different sim cards).
Since it cannot be charged while it is off, you have to remove sim card to charge the battery.
Even when the battery is fully charged, phone cannot be turned on while sim card is in it.
Running repair from the SE PC companion (same place update is located), fixes the temporarly problem (but removes all your data). But when battery dries out completely - same problem happens. Obviously reinstalling the system every time it happens is not a solution.
Backup and restore though doesn't solve the problem (so it is deeper in the system)
Any ideas?
I only have a X1 mini pro, so this is probably different, but I certainly can charge the phone while it is switched off.
Seems very strange to me...
Don't actually if the phone has something similar to the PC, like the BIOS battery that helps your PCs internal clock etc. staying alive while PC is switched off...maybe this is defect in your phone?
Think I might know what happened, though I don't see that it makes much sense.
Was having some trouble with syncing the contacts list from my old phone, and decided to delete the contacts on the sim because that list is outdated. Did that on the old phone after having the sim in the x10 for a while. When I put it back in the x10 it looked like the phone wouldn't switch on but it did after about 10 minutes of just lying there. I didn't press the button again, it came on on its own. So maybe it spent all that time figuring out that the data on the sim had changed??
When I connect turned off phone to a charger or to PC, it first turns on (by itself) and then starts charging.
It appears that something get's screwed up when mobile turns itself of when battery is completely empty.
Waiting for hours to turn on (after battery is fully charget), or starting with "home" key doesn't help at all.
Same thing happened to me today. Phone refuses to start with SIM-card installed, just vibrates briefly when the start-button is pressed. Starts ok without SIM-card, will even let me use the Web with wi-fi. Battery is about 60% charged.
Circumstances of death: I was trying to synchronise calendar and contacts over 3g without success (I normally use wi-fi). Since sync operation appeared to hang, I tried to reset by switching off the phone. Then it refused to start again. There were no other symptoms of any kind before I switched it off. I have had the phone for 8 days.
I have tried the SIM-card on my old SE k800i, and it works just fine there.
Same problem here. Phone does not turn on with simcard anymore. It's strange because if I use a simcard from another operator it starts. Maybe there is a problem with some sim manufacturers and this phone?? I'm going to take the phone for repair and and see what happens...
