T2 ultra volume button issue

My t2 ultra volume up & down not working when i want to increase & decrease a ringtone or media sound

Hi @Zafiroferio, sorry to hear about this.

I would recommend that you start with running the inbuilt test in your phone to see if volume up and down buttons work at all in your phone. You can find this test in Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > Test.

If they work fine in the test, try rebooting your phone in safe mode and see if you can increase/decrease media and ring volume when third party applications aren't loaded.

Hello, my increase volum button isnt working and I've already rebooting into safe mode. Still not working. What should I do next then?

Did you do the diagnostics test, as @Jonas suggested? Did it show that the volume buttons were working?

Hi @Raihanah, sorry to hear about this!

If the volume button isn't working in safe mode either or in the Diagnostics test, I recommend that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion.

Do note that this will delete all data stored on the internal storage of the device so creating a backup is advised.

Should you still experience this behaviour after completing the software repair, your device will need to be examined at an authorized service centre and your Local support team will assist you further!

Hi

Regarding to the software repair, one of its steps requires pressing and holding the volume button. How to get it done if I can't even use the button?

Hi @erlanthony, that is very true and I should have thought about that, sorry for the confusion!

It's still worth a try, but if you can't perform the software repair, the device will need to be examined at an authorized service centre. Your Local support team will assist you further with this matter as service routines varies from market to market.
