unfortunately messaging has stopped

Dear friends,

I uptodated my Xperia S to android 4.1.2

Howver, since then, my messaging has stopped working. & so does my email.

All the time I get this message on my screen: "Unfortunately, messaging has stopped. Ok."

And I can only check ok & nothing more.

Will you please help me?

Appreciate your care,

Neda

Dear Jaroudphone,

Unfortunately the backup file for my phone did not work. A professional here told me that it is possible that a file has been corrupted in the restored files.

You might not have this problem, so it would be a good idea to use the beckup & restore item in your PC Companion.

After you have restored your files, see if u have this message again or not.

If you still have it, the same as mine, one of your files is corrupted.

This way I got use of the Factory Restore in the the 'Setting'. Again I lost all my data, but I could have my messaging.

Hope these explanations are useful.

Peace,

Neda

Dear All,

I am presently with this situation "unfortunately messaging has stopped "as i upgrade my XperiaS to 4.1.2 from 2.3.2 !:smileysilly:! Thanks to Nedane, for presenting a detailed discussion on this. While, i did not use any option mentioned above as i am little confusded to start with using "Backup and Restor with PC companion" or "Factory Restore in the MOBILE Setting "!!

As i never used any of these oprions before, what will happen to my installed applications,,they remain or will be deleted!!!:smileyhappy:

Please share some explanations for me!!!:smileywink:

Smiles :smileylaugh:,

Hi dear XperiaSri,

If you use 'factory restore' all your installed applications will be deleted. Those that you have installed. They original applications will remain of course.

So I managed to backup the data on my brothers laptop using the PC companion. Made the factory reset and erased everything..Then I restored my data...and WOW THE MESSAGING STILL DOESN'T WORK???!!!!   That's ridiculous

Updating my software is the biggest mistake Ive done... What should I do now??? I need an answer from a SONY personnel....

I'm the same, this is clearly a repeating problem with these phones. I have an Xperia J

I haven't recieved any texts since August 27th, what is the quickest way to fix this problem (even if that means resetting to Factory defaults)?
