Xperia S batery life problem

Hi,there.

My batery life is getting worse and needs recharging sometimes twice a day. After the jelly bean update it was all fine - i got even up to 3 days without recharging. And now it goes from 95 to 65% during the night  Angry_Face

Wi-fi is not turned on, I use GSM network (not WCDMA), have 3-5 short conversations a day, internet browsing is 30-60min a day.

I know it's a common problem. Any suggestions how to improve it?

Try not to use battery savers, task killers, free ram apps. Also, disable phone functions(data, wifi,BT) when not using them.Restart the phone regularly(2-3 days).

Thank you,Alexdon.

I stopped the task killer and there is a big improvement. Nearly a day and a half after last charging and still have 47% batery life. Yay :smileysmileythumbsup:

I have the same problem but I'm not seeing "Task Killer" on my phone. Down to the basic apps pretty much, really nothing that would eat up power.

I also have WiFi/Bluetooth disabled. Still, battery went from 100% to 80% in just over an hour, only browsing Twitter on my lunch break.

I'm trying Extended Standby Mode now to see if that helps. Any other ideas/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

What does drain most of the battery of your device?Go to settings-power management and take a look there.Extended standby mode could work for you, keep us updated.

Thanks for your response. Main drainer is the screen. But can't browse Twitter w/o screen... brightness is set in the center.

Dsiabling data tracking is not a good thing, though. it cuts the phone off from some services and you have to enable it again each time you use the phone.

I just bought this phone used, it seems in good shape overall. Maybe the battery is old... Can it be replaced? I might try a battery calibration app to see if that helps.

How much battery backup do you get?Depending on that, you could go to a service to change it or not.

My battery is slowly dying. This is the end of my lovely SXS :smileyshocked:.
Since autumn I have to recharge 2x daily.
But since a few days I lose extremely a lot of power.

Last night, the smartphone has been fully charged. At night, it lost 80% battery. Only Wi-Fi was enabled but also the internal battery saving mode. This morning charged to 80%. Then I was about 2 hours on the road without  mobile internet. Back at home it was only 48%. Then I have the SXS charged to 100% and I was again for 2 hours on the road. At home, there were only 56% with internet. Now, after almost 7 hours, the battery is completely empty again (display activity 1h 14m). Bluetooth, GPS are disabled, switching between mobile Internet on the go and wireless at home). Display brightness is set to minimum. The software is completely reinstalled on Tuesday (That was very complicated since Windows 8.1, the device no longer recognized via PCC or SUS). I have installed only a few of the apps previously used.

Is it possible to replace the battery pack somewhere (in Germany)?
