Yellow tint

Anyone else have a yellow tint on their display?? I have it quite bad on the bottom of the display and both left and right hand edges of display running from top to bottom. Is it possible with a firmware update that this issue could be eliminated. J had read on one forum that ICS update SHOULD solve it. Something to do with the colour calibration. I have also heard that it could be to do with colour temperature of screen,  or the glue that was used to put display together.

Any advice would be gladly appreciated as this is ruining my experience with this device.

Latest from me:

After 2 weeks or so, my replacement from the Sony service centre started showing the yellow tint. Online chat were extremely patronising and unhelpful so I called up Sony and pointed out that it is unacceptable for me to be without a handset for two weeks while they send another replacement. Management were pretty good, they arranged for a doorstep exchange using DPD couriers. It's just arrived and from the new w17 batch so fingers crossed. My advice (to anyone in the UK anyway) would be:

1 - Call Sony - online chat is useless.Only use it once to explain the problem - they have standard responses so manager call back is they best they can offer

2 - Don't call the service centre - they aren't part of Sony and can only take instruction from Sony. They have no knowledge that they can arrange doorstep exchange

3 - Stand your ground - be polite but firm.

i have no yellow tint..but when i play a video...the approaching the bottom home button there...have a little bit a most white colour than the video when the video is shown a white background...when the movie is dark / black...it will become a bit grey colour...

i can't take screenshot..i think it's about the LCD screen problem...
how can i fix ?? take to service ??

I got my xperia s 3 weeks ago from O2 and it has developed a yellow tinge bottom of the screen, mine is 12w18 so really miffed cos reading here shouldn't Sony have eradicated this problem by 12w14??! Had actually got another xperia s at the same time for my wife but she hasn't started using yet, it is also 12w18 and I am afraid it wil eventually develop the same problem... Please help what am I supposed to do? Really don't wanna be stuck with this horrible ugly yellow tinge!!!

I am not getting this at all!!!

After replacing three Xperia S and getting my money back I waited almost two months and last weekend I was planning to buy a new Xperia S from 12w15 or onwards batch.

But saw this reply...12w18 also has this issue!!!

SONY this farce has gone so long...at least tell us which batch is free from this yellow tint issue.

Hi roops. I contacted o2 when mine went yellow and because they have a 28 day warranty themselves they did a door step swap with mine.  That was nearly 2 months ago now and still no tint even after heavy shadow gun playing!  Ring them up letthem know o2 customer services seemed completely aware of it 🙂

Thank you for the good advice I will call o2 in the morning, hope I'm still within the 28 days.

Reply to Abacus... Yes absolutely right this is a farce if Sony aint sorted it by 12w18 but I'm really hoping I was just darn unlucky and this is 1 that got passed their QC somehow??! Gonna have to wait and see if the misses's don't develop the same problem.

Batch no. of my Xperia s is 12w16, and i have the same yellow tint problem. I've paid money for the most exciting display on planet, but now its disgusting. I need a replacement.

Also, if i get replacement is there any kind of guarantee on replaced phone? Or the same problem will occur in the replaced phone too?

Bloody hell 12w16 still has tint problems?? My replacement is 12w17 and I've had it for a few weeks, but I don't dare stress testing it in case that bloody tint appears again.. I've paid a hell of a lot of money to get my original and replacement phones Sim Unlocked .. Dont wanna pay again..

Guys with 12w17 phones, please tell me your phones are still fine? Have you seen anybody has screen problems with this batch?

I bought SXS in india.

I observed the yellow tint and gave it to service center. The told they will repair and try.

I said i want only replacement and i consider myself very fortunate to get one.

It took 8 days for replacement. I was not hoping for so quick resolution. that too in india.

Best of luck for all whoes issue is not fixed.
