Anyone else have a yellow tint on their display?? I have it quite bad on the bottom of the display and both left and right hand edges of display running from top to bottom. Is it possible with a firmware update that this issue could be eliminated. J had read on one forum that ICS update SHOULD solve it. Something to do with the colour calibration. I have also heard that it could be to do with colour temperature of screen, or the glue that was used to put display together.
Any advice would be gladly appreciated as this is ruining my experience with this device.

Wise move and brilliant choice!
If only I had the money......:smileyplain:
Thanks Ethan.
Just picked up my phone from the post office. When I opened the box a black Xperia S was staring me in the face, when I was assured by one of the supervisor's at the service centre that a white one would be sent out to me, especially as I originally purchased it in white.
Have taken a quick look at the display and so far so good, but will give it a stress test later on today. My handset is W17.
Hey steve what is "W17" ... well steve i found the camera quality is not sooo good i found i dont know why is there any solutions or setting to get the best quaity solution sometimes pics comes dark with lots of noise its not at all clear and sometimes it come blurrr totaly blur i am very much dissapoint with it.
Morning all
Well, my replacement was sent from Sony's UK service centre two weeks ago and just last night, the yellow tint started to show. I'm going to call them later but I'll live with the yellow tint for a while until they definitely have the parts to repair it. Apart from the fact that I haven't the enthusiasm/energy, I've got more important things to focus on in the next few weeks like the nice weather and getting married. The whole thing still stinks though - maybe I'll just buy a Gallaxy S3...
Sigh..it's all over. My hopes on finding a decent solution have gone up in smoke.
Went to SONY service centre. They confirmed the problem, looked at the phone, and told me that I can have it exchanged for a new one.
Then they refused to take it, as it was not manufactured in my country ( India ). Why had they asked me to come there in the first place, when it wasn't covered! I had told the person on the phone before he had advised me to visit.
Now I'm dependent on the dealer for any resolution.
I understand there is no international warranty, but this is just plain irritating. It's the flagship SONY model, first in its new avatar, developed a fairly major problem, admitted it, and they can't even make exceptions for it. As far as I'm concerned, it's their fault, and they should repair/replace it wherever the phone was manufactured.
Worst experience with it. After K790i, X10, Arc S, the S might be the last phone I purchase.
Sony should get their game staright. The only reason I pay a little higher for sony products is because they almost never fail, and now this.
Phone's good. But I paid a lot for something that doesn't work well, and SONY customer interaction is very weak and shoddy. The service centre literally told me to leave the place once they realized the phone was not covered by them.
What a disappointment. Let's see what the dealer does now.
That's the manufacturers date.
Money500, Sorry to hear that mate...
Skybeta, 3eb,
I have made the phone very hot a few times by charging it and running a racing game and wrapping it in a blanket. No tints so far.. Is it really solved then?? Have you guys done anything similar?
Ramin
No problems so far with the replacement, and it's got pretty hot at times.
Hello...
I'm Arya from Indonesia...
My firmware ver. is 12W14 (first replacement)... I have got my replacement since April, and until now, it's fine... No yellow tint at all... I have tried it to play games (HD games), watch some short videos, and download some files, until the temperature is about 38 degree celcius (Sorry I don't know the fahrenheit calculation) and it just fine until now...
