Always family TV...bought 2nd hand from old depot storage, in very good condition and preservation, was about 6 yrs in original package.
Do not know country of original purchase and if it ever was aired to digital service, it did not received any updates, since the the software seems to be very old, compared to the ones seen around in the web from several owners.
Still i came across a lot of information regarding Sony Technical Bulletin 07TV085/86/101 on new versions 2.14.585
(C-6216 LE_W_52_T2_BCN) FIX 2 CHASSI Revision 11
Main issue in this gathered information was US models... was it released for Europe?
Do not intend to risk getting files from unofficial forums and break the system, any official files that can be provided? Or any Sony contact/department, payed or free service to acquire this files?
Kind regards.
Hi,
As far as I can see there's no update available for this TV.
Please refer also to: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/televisions-projectors-lcd-tvs/kdl-52w3000
Cheers

Thank you for your support, indeed there is no available public updates on the product support page, this kind of update is manly intended for support technicians as it envolves the use of the Service Port with a MS Card...this is not a modern Smart TV with USB or Networked... as it a ride in the park for users to use any updates.
That's why its issued only in Europe Sony Technical Bulletins 05-02-08 07TV086xx / 20-05-08 07TV085xx with software package PG6.xxx (C-xxxxLE_y_zz_T_BCN.ZIP) as i pointed and not in product page support.
I have collected all the information/procedures/requirements, regarding this update procedure...and some downloaded Sof/Fw packages, not from official sources, but it could be risky operation if not using the correct files for European models, that's my main concern.
Mainly...am hopping that some internal Sony representatives can point me the right direction.
I think the question to ask here is "what are you aiming for with the update?".
Thank you for your time first of all, i cannot attach here any documentation, so ill refer the topics of the Bulletin Service. it aims mainly 2 points, the software update itself regarding some European DVB-C/T broadcasts (Sony internal bulletin 07TV085) and a Gamma data correction titled "Color Noise in certain grey tones" and this one requires the software package provided as attachment in the mention bulletin, also of very importance if any main boards were exchanged in the chassi, according the original service manual (UK) 9-927-559-01 (Last revision being 11) as it need to enter service mode and update settings, panel etc... Those instructions were released in the internal bulletin 07TVR086. Last know packages is PKG6.12 witch provides C-6212LE_W_52_T2_BCN.zip with 2.14.585, but there is a more recent one witch i do not know any further details, containing presumably a higher version of software, the C-6216LE_W_52_T2_BCN.zip. There were applied to all W3000 series, except to the 40W3000 that has an update mention as only for this model to the 2.14.589. This is a 20yrs old LCD and this one was packed for a long time containing software 2.14.554 prior to bulletins released by Sony to internal technicians, kind regards
I've contacted all most Sony European support sites, willing to pay for this if necessary, pointing that this subject was not available and never was to regular costumers in product support page and im a small technician, still the answer is always the same....There is no available updates in the product page or ever released... its frustrating as all points to my imagination of such bulletins...that i do possess copies.
Hi Paul_JMB, what I know is this is the maximum that you can get, and I don't think Sony can even provide the file due to the seniority of the TV.
Hello...can you explain what did i get from Sony....what maximum did i get? Answers that i'm imagining this subject? Lost their own files or servers? Im sorry but your TV last longer than we expected? It wasn't a cheap model when it came out you know..., thank for your time.
Maybe Sony should ask this guy....for a free backup. I have knowledge of this publication for about 2 months.
