I have a Bravia smart tv KDL-40EX524 which can connect to the Sony entertainment channel for streaming films. An information paragraph appeared the other day staing this service would no longer opperate after the 12/4/2017. Has anyone any idea why this is? The other year they took Demand 5 off as well. If this carries on, it will render my tv useless for streaming services or is this the point so that I have to got out and buy new Sony or other makes of Smart tv.The tv is not that old and there is actually nothing wrong with it apart from this issue. I thought all these new generation tv's were future proof so things like this did not happen. Obviously not with Sony. Not very impressed with this and will definately think twice before buying any other Sony tv if this is gong to keep occuring.
Hi there
This question pops up rather frequently - the contiuning discontinued available apps.
Unfortunately all manufacturers have this issue. Apps made my a 3rd party are outside of Sony's control. Apps that are Sony's are obviously within their control - but for whichever reason Sony decides to discontinue them too.
In regards to the one you are referring to, see:

In technological terms - nothing is future proof.
Cheers
Hi.
I have just found out that yet another App has been disabled on my tv. This time it is BBC Iplayer. Message just comes up and states "Sorry we do not support your device" not happy with this as all I have left is Amazon video and a few lesser know Apps. At this rate my Smart TV won't be that smart any more. Any idea why 3rd party Apps keep disappearing. If this keep up will have to buy another smart tv but don't really want to as apart from the lack of Apps the tv is absolutely fine!
