Come on Sony. I’ve forked out hundreds of pounds on one of your TV’s and this forum is littered with people complaining the info bar is constantly popping up whenever you touch a remote control on any device.
It is not possible to turn it off on a number of models including mine. It completely destroys the viewing experience.
This really is unacceptable and you need to arrange a firmware fix for this ASAP. Apparently it’s affecfing your entire range of Linux-based TV’s and that’s more than enough reason to do something about it. Please advise when you intend to release this firmware fix.

Unfortunately as this is a customer to customer help forum, Sony are unlikely to read your complaint here. All we can do is commiserate with you. I opened a complaint about this issue over a year ago. What we need is more people to complain by going to https://services.sony.co.uk/supportmvc/en/Contact/Email?cpint=spt-footer_contact
Thanks for noting this is a customer to customer forum. I thought as much! I’ve opened a support case to complain so hopefully as you say the more of us that do will get results.
Its really not on that a brand name like Sony, that isn’t cheap to begin with, sees that customers having to “just get on with it” is an acceptable solution.
Ok we are now in June 2019 and this problem is still NOT fixed Sony!
As someone with an Apple TV, the info bar has a near constant presence when watching content on providers such as Netflix (Stereo vs. DD 5.1 signal notification).
I know that this is just a customer support forum - but I urge anyone with this problem to contact Sony so they may one day come round to releasing some kind of firmware update.
