I just got a KDL-26ex320 Sony Bravia internet tv. I would like to play movies from my home network, and I see from the "Tips and Solutions" page here that the tv should be able to handle videos with Xvid and DivX codecs, in AVI containers.
To see Tips and Solutions page in questions click on the "which codecs are supported by the television set?" link at http://www.sony.ie/support/en/product/KDL-26EX320/tips-and-solutions
My NAS (a Lacie NetworkSpace2) is working fine, and the KDL-26ex320 tv can render jpeg images, music files, and my home video clips (e.g. recorded with my camera) stored on the NAS drive. But the tv doesn't even list the Xvid and DivX movie files, even in "browse folders" view.
I've seen a few discussions on the sony forums about transcoding and dnla software to run on a PC, but that's not what I'm looking for. I think the tv should be able to see these files. I can see them (but not play them - too big) from my Nokia N79 phone via dnla, so I think the NAS is working fine.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Basically the DNLA does not recognise native divx or xvid or mkv files - bravia of this era will only play divx etc from USB or other input (e.g. VOD) and not over DNLA.
