My current set up is a Sony X90K TV and Pansonic DP-UB820. Since using these two together I keep coming across 4K Dolby Vision discs that will not display properly. By this I mean that the options on menu screens do not appear (leaving just a black bar) and, most recently, when playing back Star Trek VI not only do the menu options not appear, but the Klingon subtitles are black and can barely be seen.
Now if I switch off the Dolby Vision everything works fine. Indeed, even with the Dolby Vision turned on some discs still play ok, so I am finding no pattern to what does and does not play correctly.
Prior to the Panasonic I had a Sony player and never once had a playback issue like this.
So my question is, can anyone suggest what could be causing this? All suggestions gladly welcomed. Thanks
Hey @MrBealzebub
Which port are you connecting the DVD player to on the TV?
And did you try to test the player with another TV?
Hi. The Panasonic is connected to HDMI port 3 (and has also been tried on HDMI port 4 with the same outcome).
Unfortunately none of my family or friends have a 4K tv that I could try the player with.
Make sure that the DVD player is up to date, and the TV as well.
What are the contents that you face this issue with exactly?
